About Kristin

Taking steps to reclaim your life, heal from trauma, and find balance again isn’t small—it’s huge.

And I’m truly glad you’re considering it.

There’s a pillow in my office that says, “I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy, I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it”. That resonates deeply with the work I do—and the work we’ll do together.

Biography

Let me tell you a little about myself—both the fun and the not-so-glamorous stuff—because if we’re going to partner on your healing journey, you deserve to feel comfortable with who I am.

I’m a Texas Licensed Psychotherapist, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and a Certified EMDR Therapist. I specialize in helping individuals navigate:

  • Eating and weight-related disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, and unhealthy relationships with food)
  • Trauma, both “big-T” and “little-t”
  • Mood disorders
  • Ministry Wounds & Trauma – helping people in ministry who’ve experienced pain & trauma from being in ministry

I integrate a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS/Parts Work), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), among others.

As a lifelong Christian and the wife of a pastor, I believe spiritual health is foundational to emotional and physical wellness. For clients who desire and request Christian counseling, I weave Christian faith into our therapeutic work. Yes—it’s okay to have Jesus and a therapist too!

Outside of the therapy room, I’ve been married to my husband for over 30 years. We have two adult children—one married, one finishing college. I’m an avid traveler (with far more trips planned in my head than we have time or money for, according to my husband). I’m a Wisconsin girl through and through—yes, that means I’m a diehard Packers fan & cheesehead—and I try to get “home” a few times a year. Family is everything to me, so I’m especially proud that most of the photos on this site were taken by my super talented cousin, Rachel.

We share our home with two crazy dogs (including one who flunked out of therapy school because she’s afraid of people—bless her heart) and a pair of Ragdoll cats. Actually, make that three, if you count my daughter’s, who started the obsession. So yes, I’m that crazy Ragdoll cat lady too.
